And we’re back! With graduation and the end of school, there weren’t a ton of community events last weekend, so we took some much-needed R&R. With the start of summer (and a bunch of great summer camps throughout the island, many of which still have openings), plenty is going on!
For those of you who are having more of an introverted weekend, it’s a great time to get a big head start on the Hawai‘i Public Libraries’ summer reading program. The program gives away rewards to readers of all ages who complete weekly reading goals — AND for every 60 minutes you read, you’ll earn a virtual badge that enters you into a drawing for four roundtrip tickets to anywhere Alaska Airlines flies. Learn more and sign up today! And don’t miss the Hawai‘i Public Libraries’ summer reading program kick-off activities this weekend, all around Hawai’i Island including Mu’olaulani – Hula Performances in Na’alehu (June 2) and Kona (June 3) and the Summer Reading Kickoff in North Kohala (June 5) that features a life-size game board!
As always — have fun, be safe, and mālama one another!
***Looking for food assistance for your keiki this summer? Don’t miss out on the signups for the Vibrant Hawai’i Kaukau 4 Keiki Program at 8:30am on June 5. Learn more about summer food programs HERE.
