LAST MINUTE AUDITION CALL! Do you daydream about seeing your name in lights? Well, here’s your chance to get onto a stage and compete for a place in the Palace Theater’s “A Night of Island Stars” variety show competition on May 13. The theme is “Glam Up”, so the Palace is encouraging performers to keep it glamorous!
But you’ll have to rush to audition, because this Sunday April 2 is the final live audition being held. Anyone can come to the Palace Theater in Downtown Hilo from noon to 3pm. Performers will be auditioned on a first come, first served basis. So it’ll be best to come early.
Artists and performers of all ages are welcome to try out for this family-friendly variety show competition. Between ten to twelve acts will be chosen to compete for a $1000 cash prize at the variety show. And to add suspense to the competition, there will be three mystery judges selecting the winner.
If you can’t make it on April 2 to the final live audition, you can submit a video audition to [email protected] until Monday April 3. If you’re submitting by email, use the subject line “ISLAND STARS” Audition (your name).
Acts should be no longer than 5 minutes whether you’re auditioning in person or by video. Solo and group performances will be considered, but not full-piece bands. Performers can bring pre-recorded music and backing tracks to the live audition.
The Palace is looking forward to a variety of auditioners – singers, dancers, comedians, and any other skills people want to showcase. Even circus arts. Aerial artists can audition at Aerial Arts Hawaii on Sunday April 2 at 6:30pm. You can bring your own apparatus, or contact [email protected] for help.
Auditioners will be notified about whether they have been selected by Wednesday April 5. Performers chosen for the variety show will be required to attend a tech rehearsal on Thursday May 11.
