Pana’ewa Zoo hosting Spring Plant Sale on Saturday April 1

Before you start pranking others on April Fools Day, head over to the Pana’ewa Zoo between 8am and 2pm for the annual Spring Plant Sale hosted by the Friends of the Pana’ewa Zoo. This is your chance to scoop up bargains on plants such as bromeliads, bamboo, all sorts of palms, vireya, podocarpus, orchids, Norfolk pine, fruit trees and lots of varieties of succulents.

This year, there are twenty local nurseries offering up their healthy plants for sale and 20% of all sales are donated to the Zoo. We have such a unique attraction in our rainforest Zoo, so let’s support the Friends in their fundraising efforts to keep it FREE for everyone.

The Friends of the Pana’ewa Zoo seeks donations throughout the year. The donations help with extras not completely covered by County funding: supplies, toys and enrichment for the animals, helping with veterinary bills and medications, refurbishing cages and habitats, enhancements for small exhibits and ensuring that the Zoo is a first-class experience for the animals as well as visitors to the Zoo.

Be sure to get there early for the best assortment of plants. If you want to spend time at the Zoo after buying your plants, the Zoo’s hours are 10am-4pm every day of the week.
