It’s time for that annual day of all things green and gold. Whether you celebrate with dancing, whiskey, corned beef and cabbage, or other traditions, there are plenty of ways to have fund (especially since it falls on.a Friday this year). There are a variety of St. Patrick’s Day events to choose from, as well as some food and drink fun that you can bring home if you don’t feel like partying in public. Hilo Town Market St. Patrick’s Day Night Market + After Party – Downtown Hilo
The popular weekly night market in downtown Hilo is going green to celebrate St. Paddy’s Day this Friday. The party starts at 5pm — the market runs from 5 to 8:30pm, with the after party from 9pm to 12am at the Hilo Axe Lounge. The Night Market will include a variety of food vendors and artisans with locally-produced goods. The after party will feature DJ @mxpl8cornblakes.
Wristbands for the event are $5 per person or $8 for two people if purchased during the Night Market, with prices rising to $8 per person or $13 for two people starting at 9pm.
The Honoka’a Business Association certainly knows how to throw a party, so you know their St. Patrick’s Day bash is going to be a blast! This all-day event on Saturday, March 18 stretches from 10am to 6pm and will include showcases of downtown businesses, vendors, food trucks, and live music, including a special performance by Craiceáilte Celtic in the afternoon. Don’t forget to wear your green and gold!

Waimea Family Food Truck Friday – Waimea
🍀The next Waimea Food Truck Friday at W.M. Keck Observatory Headquarters is this Friday, March 17, from 4 to 8pm. This alcohol-free event includes some of the Island’s best food and beverage vendors, free entry, restrooms, and plenty of parking. There will also be live music by Dagan Music from 5 to 7pm, and to celebrate the green day they’ll be hosting a St. Patrick’s Day scavenger hunt and drawing. Braing an umbrella and your picnic blanket or chair.🍀
St. Patty’s [sic] Spring Bash – KBXtreme – Kona
In partnership with KWXX, KBXtreme presents this all ages event featuring performances by Media, Ho’aikane, Micah G, and Ekolu on Friday, March 17. Door open at 7pm, with music starting at 7:30pm. Tickets are available for online presale ($30) HERE or at the door ($45).
Hawai‘i Irish Dance at Queens’ Marketplace – Waikoloa
Mark your calendars and celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Waikoloa! The Big Island Hawaii Irish Dance group is back at Queens’ Marketplace with a special performance on Friday, March 17 at 7pm in the Coronation Pavilion. FREE!
Green Machine at Blue Dragon Tavern – Kawaihae
Get your green on this St. Patrick’s Day with Green Machine, the ultimate good-time party band based out of Kona… blending classic rock , funk , soul, pop and country…covering artists like Zeppelin, the Stones, War, and more! Featuring the Always Rippin’ David Lawrence on guitar, Rob Villegas on bass, and Tom Flores on drums. Doors are at 5:30pm, the show runs from 6:30pm-9:30pm. Willie’s Second Annual St. Patrick’s Day Shenanigans and Celebration – Kona
Hang out at Willie’s Hot Chicken on Brewery Block this Friday. Start the day early at 3pm with Craiceáilte Celtic, followed by Hawai‘i Irish Dance at 5pm, then Ronnie V and Friends at 6pm. There will be music, dancing, hot chicken, and whiskey all day for this family-friendly event.
Find the pot of zouk gold at the end of the rainbow this Friday, March 17, at Prince Dance Institute in Waimea! Megan and Darya will be teaching an all-levels fundamental class from 7-8 and then we will social until 9. We encourage wearing green… or beware of pinches! Learn more HERE.
