Looking for 2023 Earth Day events? Click HERE!
Earth Day is this week – April 22 to be exact – but there are plenty of virtual and in-person Earth Day events on the Big Island and beyond. The first Earth Day was celebrated in 1970 and has since become a huge catalyst for engagement and change when it comes to our current environmental crisis. The Earth Day website has lots of information about their history, as well as some events that they are hosting this week. For events a little closer to home, check out these cleanups, film screenings, and more!
A Life on Our Planet – Free Virtual Film Screening
Wednesday, April 21 | at 6:30 p.m. | Online | FREE
Join us for a virtual screening of A Life On Our Planet! This film is not only visually stunning, but shows us the impacts of human life as well as how we can help to preserve our precious home. The screening will have a fun chat room so we can discuss the film as we watch it together. We’ll also be having a trivia giveaway for Down to Earth (note: DTE is in Kahului) gift cards at the end of the screening! Please note that the chat room is limited to the first 50 participants who log on. If you aren’t able to join the chat room, we hope you’ll still watch the film and get inspired!
The screening is free but there are a few technological requirements to participate:
1. A Netflix account
2. Google Chrome browser
3. Teleparty Chrome Extension
