There’s Still Time to Help Project Hawai’i Make Easter Special for Homeless Keiki

Your donation can go a long way to helping homeless keiki have a wonderful Easter.

The mission of Project Hawai’i Inc is “to help our islands keiki (children in Hawaiian) break the cycle of poverty.” Since 2003, their organization and dedicated volunteers have worked to improve the lives of homeless keiki by providing year round support services, including building self esteem and social skills, educational support, monthly public outreach and special holiday events. Their Easter Celebrations provide over 600 Big Island keiki with Easter cheer including Easter baskets, food, games, and prizes the children can enjoy over their entire spring break.

Due to Covid-19, Project Hawai’i’s efforts this year will be done via individual outreach rather than a group party. The Easter Bunny will take photos with keiki and hand out age appropriate baskets. It costs Project Hawai’i $62 per keiki to provide this program, with each keiki receiving:

Easter Basket, filled with age appropriate treats and toys ($20)
A Bunny Bag with personal hygiene and Covid-19 hygiene items ($15)
A healthy, freshly prepared meal ($7)
A new outfit with shoes ($20)

Due to sanitation and health concerns, donated goods are not currently being accepted from the public. Interested parties can make donations on the Project Hawai’i website, Cash App, PayPal Giving Fund, Venmo or by mail at: Project Hawai’i Inc, P.O. Box 1844, Kea’au, HI 96749-1844.

Mahalo for your help in supporting and caring for Hawai’i Island’s homeless keiki!
